Join Capitol Land Trust & Puget Sound Estuarium in our pilot year of our Bayshore Preserve Salmon Docent volunteer program! Volunteer docents will be stationed at different areas along Johns Creek where the public (including local students and their families) can view the chum salmon. Volunteers will provide interpretation about the preserve and the salmon.
The goals of our Salmon Docent program are to 1) invite our community to visit Bayshore Preserve, 2) share what Capitol Land Trust and our partners have done to improve salmon habitat at the preserve, and 3) explain basic salmon information and behavior.
This training will introduce you to Bayshore Preserve and the work CLT has done to restore salmon habitat and provide an overview of chum salmon biology and program logistics. In addition to this training, we will share online materials and host a Bayshore Preserve orientation on Saturday, October 30 at 10:00 am. Please contact Mary for details or with questions mary@capitollandtrust.org.
