January 6
For those of you who want the no-nonsense description, we will be going back to Darlin Creek Preserve and continuing the work of past stewardship parties by removing the Scot’s broom. This work is made easier by weed wrenches and the wet ground this time of year. Start the new year off right by enjoying a morning on our 312-acre public-access preserve with trails, bridges, and beaver dams. Like last time, we expect to share a fun and productive morning with good company. Join us to help restore Darlin Creek Preserve to diverse, native habitat! You are also welcome to join us in the world of imagination.
Broom Banishers II: The Empire Strikes Back
In episode I, at the Halloween ‘Broom Banishing’ event, a group of rebel volunteers decimated strategic reserves in the Scot’s broom fleet. Feigning defeat, the Scot’s broom empire receded to a shadow of its former self. After the volunteers were satisfied with their characters arcs, they went home with their trophies to bask in the glory of the rebels’ victory.
However, in episode II, the Scot’s broom empire reveals it is not yet defeated, and has begun work in secret on the second death star. In an attempt to weaken the empire, new group of armed and dangerous rebel volunteers is scheduled to land on the wetland loop trail of planet Darlin Creek Preserve. What new characters and heart-wrenching backstories will emerge in this sequel? Will the empire be defeated for good this time? Find out at the world premiere of Broom Banishers II: The Empire Strikes Back.
