Property Overview:
- Groom Preserve protects 2.13 acres directly adjacent to Capitol Land Trust’s 22-acre Crowell Preserve, helping expand protected habitat in the area
- Forested upland, riparian and wetland habit support wildlife and watershed health
- Mature western redcedar, Douglas-fir, western hemlock and hardwood tree species like big-leaf maple and red alder make up the forest
- Native shrubs like salal, Oregon grape, evergreen huckleberry, and ferns make up the understory
- The forest is in good condition with minimal invasive plant species
