Want to cool down and get your hands dirty this summer removing invasive plants from Spurgeon Creek? Consider joining CLT staff and other enthusiastic volunteers at this event at the Bentley Conservation Easement. A large amount of the work will be done on the banks or in the creek itself. While the water is quite low this time of year be prepared to get wet and a bit muddy!
The preserved property includes 1,800 feet of Spurgeon Creek, wetlands, agricultural lands, historical pastureland, and a mixed conifer forest. Circle Hawk Farm is a year-round educational farm. Restoration projects are being undertaken to enhance and encourage fish passage up the historically salmon-bearing Spurgeon Creek. It is a gorgeous area and you can learn more here.
