Join Capitol Land Trust & Puget Sound Estuarium in our third year of the Bayshore Preserve Salmon Docent volunteer program! This training will introduce you to program logistics, chum salmon, Bayshore Preserve and the work Capitol Land Trust and our partners have done to restore salmon habitat, and interpretation tips and tricks.
Volunteer salmon docents help interpret salmon behavior to people of all ages and build awareness around the importance of salmon conservation. This program supports our vision of a future where nature and community thrive. By creating broader opportunities to learn about and experience our natural environment, we can build a stronger and more diverse community that cares about conservation. This program operates in partnership with Puget Sound Estuarium.
In addition to this training, we will share online materials and host an optional Bayshore Preserve orientation on Saturday, October 28 at 10:00 am. This optional training will help you become familiar with the preserve and the underwater cameras. Salmon Docent volunteer position description
