Sunday, March 19
Celebrate spring’s arrival by nurturing native plants at CLT’s beautiful Darlin Creek Preserve! CLT supporters are invited to volunteer with Native Plant Salvage/WSU Extension Water Resources to plant native ferns, shrubs and trees to help protect Darlin’s many acres of freshwater wetlands, salmon-bearing streams, and lowland forest habitat for both wildlife and people to enjoy. CLT has been partnering with NPS/WSU since last fall on restoration efforts for this and other CLT properties. NPS will provide all tools, work gloves, hot beverages and nutritious snacks to keep volunteers fueled throughout the day!
In addition to the planting (and maybe a little Scot’s broom pulling), volunteers are encouraged to explore the natural splendor of Darlin by hiking the walking trails during this event.
