AmeriCorps Restoration Coordinator – Mary Brichem
Mary Birchem spent most of her life in the Midwest just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to Washington just over 3 years ago to complete her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from the University of Washington. Since then, she has done environmental restoration work around the Puget Sound with various organizations as well as environmental education on Vashon Island. She has completely fallen in love with the natural areas in the Pacific Northwest and is passionate about providing opportunities for involvement and positive experiences in the outdoors. To her, it’s all about developing a communal sense of place and stewardship within the community. Mary enjoys hiking, kayaking, birding, photography, and gardening. In the future, she plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental Education and travel the world!
