July 9
Be prepared for good weather, good snacks, and grass pollen.
Our work at Stillman Creek Riparian Preserve is easy and fun. In this event, we will give small planted trees room to grow by removing their plastic protectors. Native trees were planted 7 years ago and covered with plastic tubes as a safeguard from wildlife. The trees have since outgrown their plant protectors, and removing them is necessary to ensure healthy, unrestrained growth.
We will also give a partial property tour and make time for a scenic lunch on one of the gravel bars. This preserve is 40 minutes south of Olympia, and we encourage you to carpool if possible and safe. Bring your friends and join us for a rewarding day outside on Stillman Creek!
