How to Find a Bird is the newest StoryTrail at Bayshore Preserve. In partnership with the Shelton Timberland Library, the new StoryTrail is posted at Bayshore Preserve through August 2024.
StoryTrails are fun and engaging ways to combine a love of nature and reading.
Pages from the children’s book How to Find a Bird by Jennifer Ward will be spaced out along the Johns Creek Trail in large signs. Birding concepts from the book will unfold and come to life as children progress through the pages along the trail. The journey will present many opportunities for children to put their newfound skills into practice. How to Find a Bird is designed for children preschool through third grade, but all can enjoy the vibrant illustrations and stories.
Download and print the Bayshore Bird Bingo before heading out. Download them here: English / Spanish
Don’t forget a pencil and a clipboard if you have it for the Bingo and a pair of binoculars to see some real birds! Birding backpacks are available for checkout at Timberland libraries.
The StoryTrail is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Bayshore Preserve is located at 3800 WA-3, Shelton, WA 98584.
