Good news for nature: we’ve helped conserved 100 properties!
Our first conservation success came in 1989 with Woodland Creek Preserve—a 68-acre property with sensitive estuary habitat at the southern end of Henderson Inlet. Our second conservation success –a conservation easement– quickly followed that same year and marked the first time land in southwest Washington was conserved through a voluntary agreement while remaining in private ownership.
Today, we are celebrating 100 properties conserved within the south Puget Sound and Chehalis Basin watersheds. These successes are the results of our persistent efforts, support from many partner organizations, and the generous contributions of donors and volunteers.
Your support has been indispensable in reaching this important milestone. Over our 37-year history Capitol Land Trust has grown from an all-volunteer organization to an accredited land trust. With your continued support, we look forward to playing a part in conserving even more of the magnificent natural spaces that make our region such a special place to call home – for us and for wildlife.
This is a free event. We invite you to bring a friend and join CLT staff, board, and other members for an evening of celebration. Please RSVP below.
