Hudson Cove Conservation Easement

Property Overview:

• More than 218 acres including a 7.8-acre pocket estuary known locally as Hudson Cove on the Steamboat Island Peninsula, in northwest Thurston County.
• 8,500 feet of marine shoreline along Totten Inlet and 4,745 feet of perennial and seasonal streams, for a total of more than 2.5 miles of marine and freshwater shoreline.
• Largely undeveloped property features mixed conifer forest, marsh wetlands, salt marsh estuary, and tidelands flanked by high feeder bluffs exemplary of historical bluff conditions now lost throughout much of southern Puget Sound.
• Provides crucial habitat for five salmonid species, forage fish, numerous migratory and resident shorebirds, waterfowl, landbird species, shellfish, and other wildlife.
