Saturday, May 18
Grab the family and join CLT, the Shelton Timberland Library, and Black Hills Audubon Society to kick off the installation of our newest StoryTrail! StoryTrails are a fun and engaging way for families to combine a love of nature and a love of reading.
The StoryTrail will follow pages from Jennifer Ward’s How to Find a Bird, a children’s book about birding. Birding concepts from the book will unfold and come to life as children progress through the pages along the trail. The journey will present many opportunities for children to put their newfound skills into practice. This book is written for preschool – 3rd grade children, but all can enjoy the vibrant illustrations by Diana Sudyka. The StoryTrail is bilingual in English and Spanish.
At the StoryTrail kickoff event, the joys of birding will be enhanced through bird-themed crafts, bird bingo, and exploring the story pages along the trail. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow.
Can’t make the kickoff event? The StoryTrail will be up through the end of August.
