January 16, 2017
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is a federal holiday and national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.” This special day recognizes Dr. King’s legacy through community service. Every year, Americans of every age and background celebrate Dr. King through service projects that strengthen communities, empower individuals, bridge barriers, and create solutions. Learn more about Dr. King here.
On Monday, January 16, 2017, Capitol Land Trust will be hosting a service project at Bayshore Preserve from 10 AM – 1 PM. We will be planting Washington’s only native oak tree, Garry oak (or Oregon white oak).
Tools, gloves and warm food and drink will be provided. Please dress appropriately for the weather – we will be working outdoors rain or shine. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. If you have your own gloves, feel free to bring them.
